Who doesn’t want to work with a nice person?

I might have warned you that every now and then I pitch.

Well today is the day. Kind of… With a push I am sharing some comments with you.

I was working through some ideas earlier today with an advisor who is pretty high up the food chain, well known in mergers and acquisitions and shifting people around in our industry. We had a dig in to why Independent Agent is having a steady stream of new faces joining and plenty of interested parties looking at working with us.

“When it comes down to it”, said my advisor, “people want to ‘work with a nice person who wants to help’”.

That sums up how I like to work personally, how the management and administration of our business works, and so therefore, how the company works.

People will deal with all kinds of other people – I have talked in the past about the three criteria used when people are deciding whether working together is a good idea.

  1. Producing good work
  2. Being pleasant/easy/fun to work with
  3. Being on time and punctual (both in person and in the completion of work)

Ideally we are working to ace all three, but it is likely that if we are enjoying success we are strong in two of these, and probably working on one of them. But you have to have at least two out of three.

I am sure that being a nice person who wants to help fits pretty well with number 2.

As Independent Agent has grown, there is evidence of number 1 – both the amazing agents and how we present ourselves as a whole.

And well…. Personally, I am working on number 3 – I am usually behind on something and a few minutes late to other things…

So, without ego, and just telling how it is:

I am mostly a pretty nice person to work with, I am open to suggestions, ideas, and corrections. I really don’t care when I am wrong and am happy to give up my position in the face of better evidence.

So here is the soft close.

Would you like to grow in a company that truly is genuine?

Would you like to partner with nice people, who do really good work and who can admit when they are wrong?… Yes and yes? Please take this as an invitation to get in contact.

I am confident that there is nearly endless room for growth with Independent Agent, your only limitation is in your ability to imagine it.

Please, get in contact. Email me back to arrange a time to chat.
